LA Galaxy II sign forward Augustine Williams

LA Galaxy II have signed forward Augustine Williams to a USL contract, pending league and federation approval, the club announced today. Williams, 21, joins Los Dos after two seasons with Portland Timbers 2.


“We are very pleased to welcome Augi to Los Angeles,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “He is a young talent who brings explosiveness and versatility to our offense. We are excited about his future within our club and look forward to providing him with opportunities for personal and professional growth.”


Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Williams signed his first professional contract with Portland Timbers 2 in August 2016. Last season with Timbers 2, Williams appeared in 28 games, making nine starts, scoring five goals and recording two assists. In his USL career, he’s totaled in 68 appearances, 41 starts, 11 goals and four assists.


Before being signed by Portland Timbers 2, the Sierra Leone native played for Nomads SC U-17/18 in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy during the 2015-16 season, where he recorded 20 goals and six assists in 41 games. Williams also played for Juventus Club, based out of Redwood, Calif., and Alliance F.C. in Hayward Calif.


Williams and LA Galaxy II will kick off the 2019 USL Regular Season on Saturday, March 9 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks at Dignity Health Sports Park Track & Field Stadium.
