LA Galaxy start Power Rankings strong after opening day win | Power Rankings presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment

LOS ANGELES – The LA Galaxy started their campaign on the right foot last week with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas.

Daniel Steres and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored as the Galaxy roared back from an early deficit to help Guillermo Barros Schelotto open his era with a victory.

In the MLS Power Rankings presented by ECHO, we look at the Galaxy’s power rankings on MLSsoccer.com and ESPN FC.

Below are the rankings provided by the two outlets.

MLSsoccer.com: 7th

"Not the best performance but the outcome was just right for the Galaxy in Guillermo Barros Schelotto's MLS coaching debut. Don't be surprised if Efrain Alvarez is given the "Alphonso Davies first year in MLS" treatment this year – stints off the bench, periodic appearances, to bring him along slowly for the future."

ESPNFC: 10th

"The LA Galaxy opened the season with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the field and Guillermo Barros Schelotto on the sideline, but it was a 16-year-old kid who stole the show. Efrain Alvarez's clever left-footed cross to set up Daniel Steres' equalizer in Alvarez's debut for the Galaxy will only make the clamor for the kid to get playing time louder in Carson.

"Oh, and Zlatan scored, too."
