Starting XI presented by Modelo: LA Galaxy vs. Philadelphia Union | April 13, 2019 -

Lineup Notes

  • Guillermo Barros Schelotto will make just one adjustment to the starting lineup from last weekend’s 2-0 win in Vancouver, as Diego Polenta returns to the starting XI in place of Dave Romney.
  • Goalkeeper David Bingham returns in net – he’s started every MLS match for the Galaxy since his signing in January 2018. Bingham is coming off of a shutout last weekend in Vancouver, his first of the year. He currently boasts a 1.2 GAA this season.
  • Venezuelan international Rolf Feltscher will once man the right side of the backline. He has started in that position in all five previous contests this season after missing much of last year due to injury.
  • In the center is Daniel Steres, who has made 77 appearances during his time with the club since being signed after standout seasons with LA Galaxy II. The guy is now the team’s second-leading scorer this year.
  • Alongside Steres is the Uruguayan and horse-riding Diego Polenta, who makes his fifth start of the season after missing the last contest due to injury. Polenta was added this offseason and has been solid.
  • Out wide is Jorgen Skjelvik, who is on the left flank for his sixth-straight match this year. Left back is Skjelvik’s natural position, although he played the entirety of last year in central defense.
  • In the center of the midfield is Mexican international Jonathan dos Santos, who has continued to show that he is one of the most talented central midfielders in MLS with his standout play this season.
  • Making his fifth straight start of 2019 is midfielder Sebastian Lletget, who will make the 69th start of his MLS career. In all, he has 12 goals and 12 assists.
  • Completing the midfield mix is Joe Corona, the 28-year-old U.S. Men’s National team veteran who was signed to the Galaxy through the use of Target Allocation Money on March 6. Corona makes his fifth start in MLS this season.
  • On the left will be the young and the speedy Mexican international Uriel Antuna. The Manchester City loan has started in each of the Galaxy’s five previous games this year.
  • On the right, the Frenchman Romain Alessandrini gets his second-straight start since returning him injury. Since his signing ahead of the 2017 season, Alessandrini has tallied an impressive 24 goals and 21 assists in 56 starts.
  • Up top is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who specializes in soccer.
