Uriel Antuna all smiles after scoring his first professional goal for the LA Galaxy: "It's an unforgettable feeling"

LOS ANGELES – Uriel Antuna is in the best form of his life in Los Angeles.

The LA Galaxy’s spritely winger scored his first professional goal during Sunday’s 2-1 win over the Real Salt Lake. Antuna’s tally came in the first half of the Galaxy’s victory when he slotted a Chris Pontius pass into the back of the net to open the scoring.

Antuna described the moment as simply an “unforgettable feeling.”

“I am very happy on scoring my first goal. I’m adapting better to the team and getting the confidence of the coach and the players," Antuna told reporters. "The fans have also welcomed me very well, I am very happy to be here and helping the team. I feel better each game and I’m very happy to help out the team in whichever way I can.”

The 21-year-old Mexican youth international has been a revelation for Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad this season, with a goal and an assist in nine appearances, and after Sunday’s win, spoke about how comfortable he feels in the City of Angels.

“I think it’s similar to Mexico here. There’s other Mexicans on the team and many in this city," he said. "So I can speak more Spanish, I also know some English because when I was in Holland I had to learn English. This has also helped me gain more confidence and feel more comfortable. I didn’t play much in Holland and I lost some confidence in my game.”
