Starting XI presented by Modelo: LA Galaxy vs. San Jose Earthquakes | July 12, 2019

Lineup Notes:

• The LA Galaxy are at home for their second match in a row. It’s Friday. It’s soccer. It’s the Cali Clasico at Dignity Health Sports Park. 
• Guillermo Barros Schelotto will make four changes to the starting XI, welcoming back all four players from previous absence of injuries and international duty: Jorgen Skjelvik and Rolf Feltscher slot into the backline while the two Gold Cup-winning teammates Jona dos Santos and Uriel Antuna are back after stellar play in the tourney. Lletget, Pontius and Kitchen are out injured.
• U.S. goalkeeper David Bingham starts his 54^th straight MLS game in the net since joining the Galaxy. Bingham is coming off a shutout performance last weekend vs. Toronto FC.
• Returning at right back is Rolf Feltscher, the veteran Venezuela international that recently returned from Copa America duty. It will mark his 12^th start this year.
• Daniel Steres makes his 20^h start this year. In addition to his stellar play along the backline, Steres has racked up three goals on the year, which remains the second most on the team.
• Returning from the Gold Cup in his second straight start for the Galaxy is Costa Rican Giancarlo Gonzalez. Gonzalez has been in strong form this year since joining the Galaxy from Serie A.
• Returning from a toe injury is Jorgen Skjelvik, who will make his 13^th start of the season and the 42^nd of his MLS career. Skjelvik has missed previous weeks due to injury.
• Completing the midfield mix is Joe Corona, the 28-year-old U.S. Men’s National team veteran who was signed to the Galaxy through the use of Target Allocation Money on March 6. Corona is set to make his 17^h start in MLS this season.
• Midfielder Jonathan dos Santos triumphantly returns to the LA Galaxy starting XI after scoring the match winner against the USMNT in the Gold Cup Final. Jona had an outstanding tournament and will look to bring back his fine form to LA.
• Slotting into the lineup is youngster Efrain Alvarez, who will make his second-straight start for the club after a strong outing last weekend. On the year, Alvarez has notched two assists in limited action.
• Favio Alvarez is slated to make his eighth-straight MLS start for the Galaxy since signing earlier this year. Alvarez has also provided a key spark to the Galaxy offense since joining the club.
• Out wide is Uriel Antuna, who slots back into the XI after a breakout performance with Mexico at the Gold Cup. Antuna was one of the top performers for his country and brings back that momentum with the Galaxy.
• Zlatan Ibrahimović also starts. He scores goals!

Game Notes:

• The LA Galaxy (11-7-1, 34 points) are 31-23-15 all-time against the San Jose Earthquakes.
• Friday’s contest will mark the second and final meeting between the two sides this season.
• This year at home, the Galaxy are 7-3-0.
• At home, LA have scored 16 goals.
