Lineup notes:

  • It’s the first ever day of Leagues Cup, and the LA Galaxy are set to host Club Tijuana at Dignity Health Sports Park to kick off the competition.
  • LA Galaxy Head Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto will trot out a blended lineup of youth and experience in Tuesday night’s matchup.
  • In net, Matt Lampson will make his second start for the LA Galaxy. Lampson previously made his debut start on the road against Portland in the U.S. Open Cup this season.
  • On the right, the youngster Julian Araujo gets the nod after a stellar performance against LAFC on Friday, that saw him assist on Zlatan’s first goal and help set up the game winner.
  • In the middle is Giancarlo Gonzalez, the World Cup and Serie A veteran who has been superb for LA since joining the club earlier this season.
  • Alongside Pipo is Dave Romney, the versatile and consistent defender who has played regularly across the past few years for LA since signing from LA Galaxy II.
  • On the left is Jorgen Skjelvik, who will play in his natural left position after sliding inside centrally last season.
  • In the center of the field is Servando Carrasco, and MLS veteran who has provided the Galaxy will consistent minutes since joining ahead of the start of last year.
  • Alongside is Servando Carrasco is Emil Cuello, the rookie midfielder who has surprised this season and become a regular in the 18-man roster, while making a handful of MLS appearances throughout the year.
  • Out wide on the left is Emmanuel Boateng, the speedster from Ghana. He will be the fastest player on the field Tuesday.
  • In the center of the field is the talented Efrain Alvarez, who will operate as the #10 Tuesday night vs. Tijuana. The 17-year-old has impressed in limited action this year in MLS.
  • On the left is LA Galaxy II player Kai Korenjuk, a Dutch-American who has represented both the US and Netherlands Youth National Teams. He signed with LA Galaxy II ahead of the year, and has scored five goals in 18 appearances.
  • Up top is Ethan Zubak, the LA Galaxy Academy product who signed with the first team ahead of the start of the year. He has three goals in USL this year for LA Galaxy II.
