LA Galaxy II sign midfielder Jorge Hernandez

LA Galaxy II have signed 18-year-old LA Galaxy Academy midfielder Jorge Hernandez, the club announced today. Hernandez signs with Los Dos after four years with the LA Galaxy Academy.

“We are thrilled with the addition of an LA Galaxy Academy standout to our roster,” said LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “Jorge is a very talented, creative player that has shown well for himself in our Academy. We are excited for Jorge to begin his professional career with LA Galaxy II.”

One of the most capped LA Galaxy Academy players to feature with LA Galaxy II, Hernandez has made 32 appearances across four seasons for Los Dos. He made his debut for Galaxy II on April 22, 2017 at the age of 16. This season with Los Dos, Hernandez has made six starts in 13 appearances, tallying one goal and one assist.

Hernandez was named LA Galaxy Academy Player of the Year in 2017, leading the U-17/18s to the final of the USSDA Playoffs in addition to making 13 appearances for Los Dos in that same season. Also in 2017, Hernandez was named the U-15/16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Western Conference Player of the Year.
