LA Galaxy Defender Kelvin Leerdam Called Up for International Duty

LOS ANGELES (Monday, Oct. 9, 2023) – The LA Galaxy today announced that defender Kelvin Leerdam has been called up by the Suriname National Team during the upcoming international window.

Leerdam, 33, was named to the Suriname National Team that will square off against Haiti at Flora Stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname, in a Concacaf Nations League match on Thursday, Oct. 12 (3:00 p.m. PT), before playing host to Grenada at Flora Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 15 (5:00 p.m. PT). Leerdam has tallied two assists in 16 career appearances (15 starts) for Suriname. Leerdam has recorded one goal and one assist in 19 regular-season games played (12 starts) for LA during the 2023 campaign. In 34 career games played (19 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy, Leerdam has recorded one goal and three assists.

Next up, the LA Galaxy play host to Real Salt Lake at Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, Oct. 14. The match on Oct. 14 kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcasted live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
