CARSON, Calif. (Friday, Aug. 22, 2014) – LA Galaxy II (13-7-4, 43 points), a week removed from clinching a playoff spot in USL PRO, will face Wilmington Hammerheads FC (6-7-8, 26 points) Sunday at StubHub Center’s Track & Field Stadium in Week 23 of USL PRO action, with kickoff set for 12:00 p.m. PT live on www.lagalaxy.com.
The match marks the only time Los Dos will face off against Wilmington in USL PRO play. The Hammerheads, currently in 12th place in the USL PRO standings, face Galaxy II a week after falling 2-0 on the road to Sacramento Republic FC.
Galaxy II will look to continue their winning ways after clinching a playoff spot with a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma City Energy FC on Saturday. Defender Daniel Steres scored a header in the first half off a corner kick and Los Dos shut out Energy FC to hold on for the victory.
Following the match against the Wilmington Hammerheads, Curt Onalfo’s squad will remain at StubHub Center when they face the Real Salt Lake Reserves Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 4:00 p.m. PT.
