LA Galaxy II pick up 2018 contract option for goalkeeper Eric Lopez

LA Galaxy II have picked up the 2018 contract option for 18-year-old goalkeeper Eric Lopez, the club announced today.

2018 will mark Lopez’s fourth season under contract with the club. Lopez signed with LA Galaxy II following the 2014 USL season at the age of 15, making him the youngest player in USL history to sign a professional contract at the time. In 2017, Lopez made 12 appearances for the club, while collecting his first professional shutout on June 17, 2017 in a 1-0 win over Rio Grande Valley FC.

In 2017, Lopez graduated from the LA Galaxy Academy Academic program, as part of the school’s second-ever graduating class.

“Eric has shown tremendous growth in each season with Los Dos,” said LA Galaxy II Head Coach Mike Muñoz. “We look forward to that continuing in 2018.”
