CARSON, Calif. (Monday, August 1, 2016) – This week, LA Galaxy II (9-3-8, 35 points) will return home for the first time since July 2 after taking six points from a three-game road stretch. They’ll face Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday, August 6 at 7:30 p.m. PT at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium.

The two sides have only met once this year. In that match, LA Galaxy II handily defeated the Cascadian side 4-1 at Merlo Field in Portland. Portland are 14th in the Western Conference standings and have scored the fewest goals in the conference. LA Galaxy II lead the league with 40 goals.
Over the weekend, LA Galaxy II fell 0-2 to Orange County Blues FC (7-9-4, 25 points). A double from the Blues' Trevin Caesar snapped Los Dos' four-game win streak and nine-game unbeaten streak. It was only the third time Los Dos had been shutout this season.
In other LA Galaxy II news, Raul Mendiola and Jack McBean both participated in the Chipotle MLS Homegrown on July 27. The Homegrowns fell 0-2 to Mexico U-20’s. USLsoccer.com profiled McBean ahead of the match.
