LA Galaxy midfielder Marco Reus has been named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday for Matchday 19 after recording two assists in the Galaxy’s 3-3 draw with St. Louis CITY SC in St. Louis on Saturday.
Reus helped the Galaxy equalize in the 41st minute after he drove to the byline before finding Gabriel Pec in the middle of the box for the finish to make it 1-1.
On the other side of halftime, Reus provided a spark of improvisation, flicking the ball through to Matheus Nascimento, who scored his first MLS goal. On top of the two assists, Reus provided 93 percent passing success in the 67 minutes he played in St. Louis.
The two-assist performance brings the German international to three goals and four assists on the season (12 games played, 9 starts). Reus has all seven goal contributions in the last five matches.
His two goals against LAFC on May 18 earned him not only Team of the Matchday 14 honors but also Player of the Matchday, the first for Reus since joining the Galaxy in August 2024.
Next up, the LA Galaxy travel to Colorado to take on the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday, June 25 (6:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass).
