The Whitecaps earned their first point of the season this weekend, securing a 0-0 draw with Seattle Sounders FC at home on March 30. Vancouver had previously lost three straight one-goal games to start the season, against Minnesota United, Real Salt Lake and Houston Dynamo.

Over the weekend, the Galaxy maintained their perfect home record in 2019 with a 2-1 win over Portland Timbers at Dignity Health Sports Park. Zlatan Ibrahimović successfully converted two penalties on the evening to bring his season total to three. Ibrahimović and Alessandrini returned to the starting lineup for the first time since the Home Opener, providing the Galaxy with their strongest starting lineup of the season yet.
