Carson, Calif. (Friday, August 14, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (11-8-3, 36 pts.) will travel to Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex to face Austin Aztex for the second time this season on Saturday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.
Galaxy II found its first victory of the season at home over the Aztex behind goals from Ariel Lassiter and Raul Mendiola. The match between the pair of clubs was originally scheduled to be held at the Aztex home field, House Park, but due to a recent flooding on Memorial Day the club now plays all home matches at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The new home for the Aztex facility seats 11,000 patrons in North Austin.
Austin Aztex head coach Paul Dalglish joined the team one year ago from Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake. Falling 1-0 to the OC Blues away in their last match, the Aztex are now 7-11-3 with 24 points on the season. Kris Tyrpak leads Austin with seven goals and 2 assist on the season.
Consistently making changes throughout the season, Galaxy II head coach Curt Onalfo had seven LA Galaxy Academy products on the lineup as the team played a part of a double header at StubHub Center on August 9. In that match against Arizona United SC, Andre Auras was able to put away his third goal of the season in the 65th minute.
Los Dos continue to be lead in goals by forward Ariel Lassiter with nine on the season while Raul Mendiola leads in assists with eight, second overall in the league.
The following match will feature a doubleheader between LA Galaxy and LA Galaxy II on Sunday, August 23 at 3 p.m. PT at StubHub Center as Los Dos face Seattle Sounders FC 2 after the MLS match between the Galaxy and NYCFC.
