Match Preview: LA Galaxy II face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC Saturday

Carson, Calif. (Friday, Sept. 18 2015) – LA Galaxy II (13-11-3, 42 pts.) will travel to face Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC this Saturday, Sept. 19 at Sand Creek Stadium in the final match of the 2015 USL regular season. The game kicks off at 6:00 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.


Under head coach Steve Trittschuh, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC are in second place in the Western Conference standings with 46 points from a 14-9-4 record in their first year of USL play. They are led by Luke Vercollone, who has scored 14 goals and added nine assists in 25 games, leading the team in both categories.


Los Dos will look to snap a three-game losing streak Saturday in Colorado, having dropped matches against Arizona United SC, Orange County Blues FC and Portland Timbers FC 2 in their last three contests. In their most recent contest, LA Galaxy II fell to Portland, 1-0 at StubHub Center’s Track and Field Stadium on Wednesday night.


Curt Onalfo’s side are currently in fifth place in the USL Western Conference, with a playoff spot already clinched. They are led in goals by Ariel Lassiter with 10 on the season, with fellow forward Jack McBean adding an additional six goals and five assists this year.


Saturday’s match marks the third contest of the year against Colorado Springs, with Los Dos going 1-1-0 in the previous two meetings.
