LA Galaxy II (9-4-9, 36 points) travel to Anteater Stadium in Irvine, Calif. on Saturday, Aug. 20, to face Orange County Blues FC (9-11-4, 31 points) in the two sides’ fourth meeting of the season. The game will kick off at 7:00 p.m. PT and be broadcast live on www.lagalaxy.com/2.

In three matches against each other this season, Los Dos and Blues FC have split all points going 1-1-1. Orange County has combined to outscore LA 4-3 in those games, with three goals coming from Blues forward Travis Caesar. Caesar doubled up on the Galaxy in his team’s most recent contest against LA: a 2-0 win at Anteater Stadium on July 30.

For Los Dos, this will be the second of a five game road stretch during which LA will be poised to claim the USL Western Conference’s top spot. Ahead of Saturday’s match, Los Dos’ 36 points are just one off the conference’s three leaders with 37 points: Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Sacramento Republic FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. LA has a game in hand on each team.

For Orange County, the team currently sits seventh, just one spot and one point clear of the red line. Five teams are separated by only three points – a result for OC on Saturday night is crucial.

Next, Los Dos are on the road again to take on Sporting Park Rangers at Children’s Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. on Saturday, August 27 at 5:30 p.m. PT. For a full LA Galaxy II schedule, visit www.lagalaxy.com/schedule/2.

LAST MATCH

OKC Energy FC 0 | LA Galaxy II 0: LA Galaxy II drew 0-0 with OKC Energy on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla. Thanks to a handful of incredible Clement Diop saves, LA escaped OKC with a point in the first of a five-game road stretch. It was the team’s sixth shutout of the season; Diop’s fifth for Los Dos in 2016.

Portland Timbers 2 | Orange County Blues FC 1: The Orange County Blues closed out their road trip of the Pacific Northwest with a trip to Portland to face Timbers 2 on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately they could not repeat their heroics of Wednesday night’s win in Vancouver against WFC2 as they fell to Timbers 2, 2-1 at Merlo Field.

Down 2-0 at half, it wasn’t until the 89th minute that the Blues managed to pull one back however it proved to be a little too late to spark a comeback. It was debutant Max Rauhofer who converted the penalty after Andrae Campbell had been tripped in the box.
