The extra time between matches provided an opportunity for the squad to sharpen its preparations on the training pitch and reinforce the roster with new signings as the Galaxy continue their push through the second half of the season.

The LA Galaxy face the Houston Dynamo for the 44th time in regular-season play, with the Galaxy holding a 14-15-14 all-time record in the series. In matches played at Shell Energy Stadium, LA owns a 7-10-5 mark against Houston. While the Dynamo have maintained a narrow edge historically, recent meetings between the clubs have been closely contested, with each of the last three matchups ending in a 1-1 draw. Prior to that stretch, Houston claimed 2-1 victories in both meetings during the 2024 campaign.
