LOS ANGELES (October 23, 2026) – On Sunday, October 25, the LA Galaxy will make the short trip to BMO Stadium to take on crosstown rivals LAFC at 6 p.m. PT on Apple TV's Sunday Night Soccer. The second meeting between the two Los Angeles clubs this season comes at a pivotal moment in the playoff race, with significant postseason implications on the line.

LA Galaxy vs LAFC

The Galaxy enter the contest with an even 10-10-7 record in the all-time series and will look to earn a result as the regular season enters its final stretch. The 2025 campaign featured a pair of draws between the clubs, with the Galaxy rallying for late equalizers in both matches behind goals from Marco Reus and Maya Yoshida. The first meeting of 2026, played shortly after the FIFA World Cup international break, saw LAFC come away with three points. With just three matches remaining in the regular season and both sides battling for playoff positioning in a tightly contested Western Conference, another crucial three points will be on the line in the latest edition of El Tráfico.

LA Galaxy Recent Results

The Galaxy have collected four points from their first three matches in October, posting a 1-1-1 record after a productive September that saw the club earn 10 points from five games. Following the international break, LA returned to MLS action with a road loss to St. Louis CITY SC despite goals from João Klauss and Robert Taylor. The Galaxy then bounced back with a 2-0 clean-sheet victory over the Portland Timbers behind goals from Marco Reus and Justin Haak before playing San Diego FC to a 2-2 draw, with Klauss and Erik Thommy finding the back of the net. With three matches remaining in the regular season, the Galaxy will look to continue adding points as the race for Western Conference playoff positioning enters its final stretch.

Standout Performances

With the regular season entering its final stretch, the Galaxy have received key contributions from across the roster. João Klauss has scored four goals in his last five matches, bringing his season total to nine goals in just 14 appearances, while Marco Reus has remained at the center of LA's attack with nine goal contributions in his last eight games and involvement in 46.5% of the club's league goals this season. Sunday's draw against San Diego also saw Sergi Roberto record his first assist as a member of the Galaxy and Erik Thommy score his second goal of the year. At the other end of the pitch, JT Marcinkowski recorded his fourth MLS clean sheet of the season in LA's recent win over Portland and his seventh across all competitions. Defenders Justin Haak and Harbor Miller have also been recognized for their performance in recent weeks, earning MLS Team of the Matchday honors in Matchdays 28 and 31, respectively.
