LOS ANGELES – The LA Galaxy will look to return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon when they host New York City FC at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s squad find themselves in the midst of a two-game winless streak they prepare for their clash with NYCFC on Saturday. The Galaxy dropped both matches during their East Coast road swing including a 3-1 defeat to Columbus Crew SC on Wednesday.
Despite their recent struggles, the Galaxy remain in second place in MLS Supporters’ Shield standings and can find themselves in the top spot with a victory over the Bronx club. Although the season is still in the early stages, Schelotto is determined to take the team into first.
"We need three points to get first position," Schelotto said. "Everyone wants to be top of the table."
