LOS ANGELES (Saturday, March 11, 2023) – The LA Galaxy earned their first point and shutout of the season in a 0-0 draw on the road against Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park on Saturday night.

Saturday’s match marked the 78th meeting across all competitions between the LA Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City, with the Galaxy leading the all-time series 31-29-18. Against Sporting KC, LA holds a 26-26-17 record in league play and a 5-3-1 record in the MLS Cup Playoffs. In 36 regular-season appearances at Kansas City, LA holds a 9-18-9 record.

Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond made 11 saves and notched his 12th career regular-season shutout in the draw at Sporting KC. The 11 saves marked Bond’s second-highest saves total in a single match with the Galaxy. Homegrown defender Jalen Neal made his first MLS start for the Galaxy, logging 90 minutes, tallying a game-high five blocks and completing 58 of 60 passes attempted (96.7% pass accuracy) in the shutout against Sporting KC.
