Match Report: LA Galaxy II fall to Orange County Blues FC on the road, 2-1

Los Dos fall to OCB

CARSON, Calif. (Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015) – LA Galaxy II (13-10-3, 42 points) fell 2-1 to Orange County Blues FC Saturday night behind a last minute goal from the hosts. Despite being unable to pick up points on the road, LA Galaxy II have clinched a spot in the USL Playoffs.


Los Dos will now host Portland Timbers 2 at StubHub Center on Wednesday, Sept. 16 in their final home match of the USL Regular Season before traveling for an away match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, Sept. 19 in their final match of the regular season.


LA Galaxy II goal-scoring leader Ariel Lassiter opened the scoring Saturday night when he buried a first-half penalty kick to put Los Dos up, 1-0. Lassiter’s goal was his 10th of the season during his first year with LA as he leads Los Dos in scoring.


Following Lassiter’s goal in the first half, Orange County responded with two unanswered goals, including the game winner in second-half stoppage time. Brenton Griffiths headed in a first-half corner to tie the score at 1-1 going into the break before leading goal-scorer for Blues FC Cristofer Ramirez scored in the 90th minute to give the hosts all three points on the night.


The match Saturday marked the fourth time the Southern California rivals squared off this season, withLos Dos winning the series by a 2-1-1 record.


LA Galaxy II will play their final home match of the season this Wednesday, Sept. 16 at StubHub Center when they host Portland Timbers FC 2 at 7:30 p.m. PT streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com.
