Match Report: LA Galaxy II fall to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in dramatic 4-3 finish

LA Galaxy II (4-2-4) fell away to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (5-0-2) 3-4 Sunday afternoon at UBC Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver.
A hot start from Vancouver saw the home side up 3-0 in just 21 minutes of play. It was only the second time of the season that LA allowed more than one goal in the first half. Vancouver's Kyle Greig scored two goals in the opening 20 minutes of the game while Alphonso Davies added another.

Los Dos pulled one back in the 35th minute on a long-distance beauty from Jose Villarreal that beat Vancouver goalkeeper Sean Melvin top corner at the near post. LA would finish the half down 3-1.

LA Galaxy II found more chances in the second half, but Vancouver struck first when Vancouver's Brett Levis found the net in the 81st minute. LA quickly responded though, as Denzel Slager volleyed home a cross into the box in the 84th minute. LA were back within one when Jose Villarreal converted a penalty in the 90th.

But the comeback effort would be to late and LA were sent home with their second straight loss of the season.
