Sergeant First Class Arturo Perez of the U.S. Army is our Hero of the Match presented by Pirnia Law

The Hero of the Match presented by Pirnia Law for May 25 is Sergeant First Class (SFC) Arturo Perez of the United States Army.

Sergeant First Class Perez joined the U.S. Army in 2006. Since then, he has had multiple deployments. His first was to Camp Ramdi, Iraq as a Squad Automatic Weapon Gunner, for the 1st Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment where he participated in Operation Murfreesboro. His second deployment was to South, Afghanistan where he served as a Team Leader for the 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Division conducting rout clearance operations. His third deployment was to East Afghanistan, serving as a Team Leader for the sniper and reconnaissance section for the 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Division.

He then went on a nine-month rotation to Camp Casey-South Korea, defending the border between North and South Korea. He is now stationed with the Southern California Recruiting Battalion as a member of the Huntington Beach Recruiting Company in Fountain Valley.

Some of his awards include The Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Expert Infantryman Badge.

While serving in the US Army Active Duty, he is working on completing his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Grand Canyon University.
