Six LA Galaxy players called up for international duty

LOS ANGELES (Friday, Nov. 5, 2021) – The LA Galaxy today announced that defenders Oniel Fisher (Jamaica) and Niko Hämäläinen (Finland) and midfielders Sebastian Lletget (United States) and Rayan Raveloson (Madagascar) were called up by their respective national teams for 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. Additionally, midfielder Jonathan Perez was called into the Mexico U-20 National Team, while defender Jalen Neal was named to the United States U-20 National Team, as both countries will compete in the Revelations Cup from Nov. 7 – 17.

Fisher, 29, has played in 11 games (4 starts) for the Galaxy during the 2021 campaign, logging 446 minutes of action. The Portmore, Jamaica, native has tallied one goal 23 appearances (20 starts) for Jamaica since making his debut for the national team in a 1-0 win over Honduras on Feb. 16, 2017. Jamaica continues FIFA World Cup Qualifying by traveling to face El Salvador on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. PT, before playing host to the United States Men’s National Team on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. PT (Paramount+ and Universo).

Hämäläinen, 24, has made 13 appearances (12 starts) for the Galaxy since joining the club on loan from Queens Park Rangers on Aug. 6, 2021. Hämäläinen has made 10 career appearances (6 starts) for Finland. Continuing World Cup Qualifying, Finland travels to face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 9:00 a.m. PT, before playing host to France on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 11:45 a.m. PT.

Lletget, 29, has notched two goals and five assists in 25 appearances (20 starts) for the Galaxy during the 2021 campaign. The San Francisco, Calif., native has eight goals and three assists in 33 appearances (19 starts) for the U.S. Men’s National Team. The USMNT continues World Cup Qualifying, playing host to Mexico at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati on Friday, Nov. 12 (6:00 p.m. PT; ESPN, Univision, TUDN). Four days later, the USMNT will face Jamaica at Independence Park in Kingston on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. PT (Paramount+ and Universo).

In 21 appearances (21 starts) for LA this year, Raveloson, 24, ranks tied for second on the team with five goals scored. Raveloson has scored one goal in 14 games played (10 starts) for the Madagascar Men’s National Team. Madagascar continues World Cup Qualifying when it travels to face to the Benin on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 8:00 a.m. PT before playing host to Tanzania on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 5:00 a.m. PT.

Neal, 18, tallied one goal in 14 appearances (13 starts) for Los Dos during the 2021 USL Championship regular season. The U-20 USMNT will square off against the U-20 national teams of Brazil on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. PT, Colombia on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. PT and Mexico on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 3:00 p.m. PT. All matches from the Revelations Cup will air on TUDN.

Perez, 18, has made three appearances for the Galaxy during the 2021 MLS regular season, in addition to tallying one goal and three assists in 17 games played (14 starts) for LA Galaxy II in USL Championship play this year. The U-20 Mexico National Team will compete against the U-20 sides of Colombia on Wednesday, Nov. 10, Brazil on Saturday, Nov. 13 and the United States on Tuesday, Nov. 16 during Revelations Cup play.
