Lineup Notes

  • The LA Galaxy travel to the land of Starbucks, Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks love stories, tossing fish, and boom boom claps when they face Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field Saturday afternoon.

  • LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid will return to his old stomping grounds as he faces Seattle for the second time at CenturyLink Field since returning to coach LA last season. He will shuffle his lineup to accommodate for the absence of all three Galaxy DPs and Zlatan.

  • In net, it’s David Bingham, who will make his 26th start of the season after playing every single minute for the Galaxy this season. Bingham is the LA Galaxy most famous David B in history that isn’t also an underwear model.

  • The versatile Dave Romney will get the nod along the backline after stepping into a prominent role this year, making 17 previous starts. He has played in every position along the backline year season.

  • Defender Jorgen Skjelvik makes his 26th start of the season. Only he and David Bingham have started in each match this year for the Galaxy. Skjelvik leads MLS in consonants-to-vowels ratio for all last names.

  • The Galaxy veteran Daniel Steres will get the start in Seattle, the team that originally drafted him. Since joining LA, Steres has gone on to make 65 appearances and 58 starts in MLS for the Galaxy.

  • Making his first start since a surgery on his pectoral muscle in late April, Rolf Feltscher brings his wonderful hair and many languages spoken back into the Starting XI in Seattle. Feltscher will look to cover a lot of ground in his first appearance since April 21.

  • In the center of the field,
    Perry Kitchen
will get the start in his 24
    th
of the year, the third most of any Galaxy player. Kitchen will be asked to do all the dirty work, take care of the chores and clean up the
    sink
    middle of the field.
  • Alongside Kitchen is the dependable Servando Carrasco, who makes his 8th start of the season against his former team. Carrasco has been a valuable offseason addition, plugging in the central midfield well when called upon.

  • Captain Ashley Cole will once again get the nod after another successful season that has seen him tally six assist, a high for MLS defenders. Cole is coming off a one-goal and no-beach-visit performance on Tuesday vs. Colorado.

  • Da’ Boy Sebastian Lletget continues in the starting XI after missing extended time due to injury in the middle of the season. Lletget has two goals in his last two games, which, for those well versed in mathematics know, is a 100% scoring ratio in his last two games.

  • The fastest player on the field on Saturday will be Emmanuel Boateng, who makes his 7th start of the year. Boateng has scored seven goals and added 12 assists since the start of last season.

  • Up top is Norwegian striker Ola Kamara, who continues to finish at a high level this year, bringing his MLS total to 42 goals since the start of 2016.

  • Game Notes

    • The Galaxy are 10-8-7 on the year, with 48 goals scored and 42 goals conceded.
    • This year on the road, LA have gone 4-4-4 and scored 20 goals while conceding 19.
    • All time, LA are 9-6-9 against Sounders FC, including 4-3-5 at CenturyLink Field.
    • The Galaxy are 3-1-4 when leading at halftime and 6-1-5 when scoring the first goal of the match.
      • Conversely, they are 4-5-1 when trailing at half and 4-7-1 when conceding first this year.

    Storylines

    • Can the Galaxy rebound after conceding another late goal on Tuesday?
    • How will LA cope with the absence of several key stars?
    • Will the Galaxy slow down Seattle’s momentum?
    • Where will the goals come from on Saturday?
    • Why don’t they just hand the fish instead of throwing them?

You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman – Aretha Franklin

Looking out on the morning rain

I used to feel so uninspired

And when I knew I had to face another day

Lord, it made me feel so tired

Before the day I met you, life was so unkind

But your the key to my peace of mind

    'Cause you make me feel,

    You make me feel,

    You make me feel like

    A natural woman

When my soul was in the lost and found

You came along to claim it

I didn't know just what was wrong with me

Till your kiss helped me name it

Now I'm no longer doubtful, of what I'm living for

And if I make you happy I don't need to do more

    'Cause you make me feel,

    You make me feel,

    You make me feel like

    A natural woman

Oh, baby, what you've done to me

You make me feel so good inside

And I just want to be, close to you

You make me feel so alive

    You make me feel,

    You make me feel,

    You make me feel like

    A natural woman
