In honor of Pride Night, the Hero of the Match presented by Pirnia Law for May 27 is United States Marine Corps Sergeant Rechelle Hoppers.
Sergeant Hoppers was born in the Philippines and moved here in 1992 with her mom. She has over eight years of service for the U.S military.
Hoppers graduated bootcamp at Marine Corps Recruit Depo, Parris Island, South Carolina. Her first duty station was at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Then went to the 4th Combat Engineer Battalion Charlie Company in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is currently the local Prior Service Recruiter for the LA area 12th Marine Corps District.
Some of her awards include two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, one Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, two Good Conduct Medals, and two Certificate of Commendations.
