LA Galaxy president Chris Klein says the club is looking to retain Alan Gordon | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. -- Alan Gordon is currently out of contract, but according to Galaxy president Chris Klein, the club is confident that they can bring back the veteran forward.

The Galaxy announced on Monday that the 34-year-old is currently out of contract

Gordon enjoyed another strong campaign for the Galaxy in 2015, making 36 appearances and scoring 10 goals across all competitions. Although Gordon is currently without a contract, Klein is optimistic that the team will be able to get a deal done to keep the fan favorite at StubHub Center.

"Bruce has had many discussions with Alan. He's a player who has been important to this club and he's scored a lot of big goals for us over the past few years," Klein told LA Galaxy Insider. "There are challenges with roster limitations in our league, so we just have to work on it step by step. Bruce is working through that right now, and we're confident that we're going to have a good group back next year."

But does Klein feel confident that the team will be able to get a deal done with Gordon?

"Of course," Klein said. "Definitively, I don't know where [the negotiation] stands so I don't want to comment on it, but he's a guy that is important to us."
