CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy received good news regarding Giovani dos Santos on Friday, but the prognosis wasn’t quite as positive regarding Steven Gerrard.
The 35-year-old midfielder has been sidelined with a left calf injury since the Galaxy’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes on March 19. After training on Friday, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena stated that the English midfielder is “not likely” to suit up against the Portland Timbers on Sunday.
Despite Arena’s diagnosis, Gerrard did take part in limited training with the rest of the team on Friday.
