CARSON, Calif. -- Landon Donovan has joined the ownership group seeking to bring Major League Soccer to San Diego.
The LA Galaxy legend was unveiled on Friday as a new partner and investor in the Soccer City SD group that is among 12 bids seeking to join MLS. Donovan will also serve as the anchor member of the club's new soccer advisory board.
Last month, the ownership group unveiled a $2.5 billion dollar stadium and community development plan in San Diego's Mission Valley neighborhood.
