LA Galaxy Player of the Month
Allison is the first ever nominee from the newly-founded Girls’ LA Galaxy Academy, making an appearance on the ballot after recording braces in each of the first two weekends with her U-14 Girls’ LA Galaxy Academy side.
Zardes makes the ballot after he started the month scoring in consecutive matches: a well-timed stretch to finish off the team’s 3-0 win at home against Colorado Rapids and a clinical header that eventually earned a draw in Seattle. With an injury-ridden back line, he even started three games at right back, showing off the all-around skillset he possesses. On top of that, he surprised some hometown kids in Hawthorne with FIFA 18. Zardes was called in to the U.S. Men’s National Team for World Cup Qualifiers, but won’t be joining after picking up a groin injury in the team’s most recent outing against Real Salt Lake.
LA Galaxy’s French winger Romain Alessandrini recorded three goals for himself in the month of September, a sight that’s become standard in his debut season. He started things off with a panenka against Tim Howard and the Colorado Rapids. Next came a dazzling free kick in Kansas City. Ashley Cole helped him tack on another goal to the month’s tally in Houston.
Boateng started his month off with a goal against Colorado, helping the Galaxy to that big win on Sept. 2 at StubHub Center. He played in all seven games in the month of September, showing his quality as one of team’s most durable assets.
Bradford Jamieson IV had himself a breakout month, earning five starts and certainly making the most of them. In Houston, Jamieson IV made no mistake after snazzy assist from Giovani dos Santos. At home that weekend against RSL, he put an excellent finish past RSL’s Nick Rimando.
Fans will be able to vote for the group of nominated players at LAGalaxy.com/POTM, where they can also enter the Herbalife Player of the Month Sweepstakes. September’s Herbalife Nutrition Player of the Month award winner will be announced on Oct. 7, with fan voting closing on Oct. 6. Each month, the sweepstakes winner will receive four VIP match tickets to a 2017 LA Galaxy home game. The winner and their three guests will also win a meet and greet with the LA Galaxy at a private training session.
The campaign for October’s LA Galaxy Player of the Month Award presented by Herbalife kicks off at 4:30 p.m. PT on Sunday, Oct. 15 against Minnesota United FC at StubHub Center. Tickets to the match are available for purchase at lagalaxy.com/tickets.
