LA Galaxy acquire 2018 MLS SuperDraft second-round selection from Vancouver Whitecaps FC

The LA Galaxy have acquired a second-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft from Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for the rights to goalkeeper Brian Rowe, the club announced today.


The Galaxy declined Rowe’s contract option on Nov. 27. Selected in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft out of UCLA, Rowe went on to make 59 appearances and 56 starts with the Galaxy while making 185 saves and earning a 1.25 GAA with a 21-16-21 record.


The 2018 MLS SuperDraft will take place in Philadelphia on Friday, Jan. 19. In addition to the newly-acquired fourth round selection from Vancouver, the LA Galaxy currently hold the second overall pick. The Galaxy also acquired the 90th overall selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for the rights to goalkeeper Jon Kempin yesterday.
