CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy are rocketing up the MLS Power Rankings presented by ECHO Outdoor Power Equipment after earning their second consecutive victory last week.
The Galaxy earned a 3-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC, their second straight three-goal win in as many weeks. Los Angeles is now just two points behind Real Salt Lake for the sixth and final postseason berth in the Western Conference.

Zlatan is coming up the standings like the shark in "Jaws." LA are still out of the playoff places, but somewhat similar to D.C., their momentum makes it seem like they can seal this and reach the postseason. Of course, the biggest test yet is up: a road game at Sporting KC.
The Galaxy pulled within two points of a playoff spot this weekend thanks to RSL's draw and their own 3-0 win over Vancouver. It's too early to tell whether the coaching change will put the Galaxy in the playoffs, but the club is benefiting from a new-boss bump.
