The ceremony unveiling the statue will be open to fans attending the match and will take place prior to the LA Galaxy beginning their 24thseason in MLS. Exact time and location to be announced at a later date.

At halftime, Beckham, a two-time MLS Cup Champion, will join Cobi Jones, Mauricio Cienfuegos and Doug Hamilton in the club’s Ring of Honor.

The event will conclude a week of programming that also features the unveiling of a renovated turf field in Downtown Los Angeles with donations from Herbalife Nutrition, AEG, the LA Galaxy Foundation and David Beckham.

In addition to the field, a mural featuring Beckham’s time as a member of the LA Galaxy will accompany the project. The mural will be designed by Mark Paul Deren, commonly known as MADSTEEZ, a local artist whose work is featured around the city of Los Angeles.

Beckham joined the LA Galaxy in 2007 as the biggest signing in Major League Soccer history. He remained with the club through 2012, making 98 appearances and adding 18 goals and 40 assists while winning two MLS Cup trophies. Throughout his career, Beckham played at the biggest clubs in the world, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, A.C. Milan and Paris Saint Germain in addition to the LA Galaxy.
