LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo named to U.S. U-23 roster for upcoming friendlies in Spain

LOS ANGELES – LA Galaxy defender Julian Araujo has been named to the U.S.  Under-23 National Team’s roster for a pair of friendlies in Spain later this month.

Araujo and the U.S. U-23 will play their first matches of the 2020 U-23 cycle in San Pedro del Pinatar against Egypt on Friday, March 22 and the Netherlands on Sunday, March 24. The games will kick off at 9 a.m. PT at Pinatar Arena in San Pedro del Pinatar.

Araujo, 17, made his MLS debut in the Galaxy’s 3-2 victory over Minnesota United last Saturday.  

Newly named U-23 head coach Jason Kreis will lead the team as they begin their process to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The United States will be hoping to qualify for their first tournament since the 2008 season.
