Coming off an emotional win over the Seattle Sounders, Sporting Kansas City are looking for a second straight win when they take on an LA Galaxy side that welcomes Zlatan Ibrahimovic back from a two-game suspension.
Johnny Russell scored a hat trick as Sporting (3-4-5) defeated the Sounders, 3-2, to snap a seven-match winless streak with their first victory since March 30 in a wild Sunday evening showdown at Children's Mercy Park.
The Galaxy (8-5-1) ended a four-match losing streak on Friday, winning 1-0 over host Orlando City SC in their last game without Ibrahimovic. Jonathan dos Santos scored the game's only goal in the 19th minute and David Bingham made sure the result held up, saving a Nani penalty kick later in the first half.
