LOS ANGELES -- The LA Galaxy dropped in the MLS Power Rankings after falling to San Jose Earthquakes.

The Galaxy made a lot of noise about playing even with San Jose two weeks ago when the Quakes beat LA in Stanford. After Friday night's Quakes win in Carson, those claims seem ridiculous. LA was outshot 32-5 by their old rival this weekend and now have the fun task of facing a primed LAFC team on Friday.
The Galaxy are on better form than D.C. but it's all feast or famine for them these days. There's time to find form before the playoffs, but LA can't afford to wait too long to get in gear, and after a Cali Clasico embarrassment they'll want to avoid another rivalry slip with El Trafico coming.
