U.S. Soccer has determined the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal schedule scenarios that will see Round of 16 winners face off at venues across the country during the second week of July. Two-time U.S. Open Cup winners LA Galaxy will travel to face San Jose Earthquakes on Monday, July 10 at Avaya Stadium. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on ussoccer.org.
The Galaxy qualify for the quarterfinal after earning victories over USL sides Orange County SC and Sacramento Republic FC in the Fifth Round and Round of 16. San Jose advanced after picking up a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders FC at home. The winner of Monday’s matchup will then face the winner of the Sporting KC vs. FC Dallas fixture, taking place on Tuesday, July 11 at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.
Following the Quarterfinals, a concluding draw will take place to determine the hosting scenarios for the tournament Semifinals and Final.

The Galaxy have recorded a 32-16-1 all-time record in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. They have entered the Open Cup every year since 1999, winning the tournament in 2001 and 2005 while reaching the Open Cup Final on two other occasions. Last year, the Galaxy fell to FC Dallas in the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for over 100 consecutive years dating from 1914. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
