LA Galaxy II (10-6-9, 39 points) are set to take on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (14-10-4, 40 points) in the finale of a five-game road stretch that has kept Los Dos away from StubHub Center since Aug. 6. The two sides will meet for the third time this season when they kick off at 6:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Switchbacks Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. The match will be streamed live on www.lagalaxy.com/2.

After breaking a five-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Arizona United SC in Peoria, Ariz. on Wednesday, Los Dos will look to earn back-to-back wins and jump back in the race for the top spot in the USL Western Conference on Saturday in their contest with Switchbacks FC.

Colorado Springs sits in fifth place in the Western Conference standings, just one point ahead of LA. Los Dos are 1-0-1 against Colorado Springs in their two 2016 meetings – both at StubHub Center – with a 3-2 win at home on May 4 and a 0-0 draw on June 11. In the 3-2 win, Jack McBean recorded his first professional hat trick while Colorado Springs’ Mike Seth assisted Saeed Robinson in the 77th and added a goal in extra-time that made for a nervous ending to the match for LA.

LA has struggled since the departure of McBean, but traveling with Los Dos are a group of strikers capable of filling the void. Two of them, Ariel Lassiter and Adonis Amaya, scored on Wednesday’s match. Bradford Jamieson IV has scored and assisted in the team’s last two matches. Jose Villarreal co-leads the team in goals scored (6).

All might be required to step up on Saturday, as Switchbacks FC’s 8-2-3 home record is one of the best in the conference. They’ve shutout two of their last three opponents at home.

LAST MATCH

Arizona United SC 1 | LA Galaxy II 2: LA Galaxy II defeated Arizona United SC (8-12-6, 30 points) 2-1 on Wednesday night at Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz behind goals from Ariel Lassiter and Adonis Amaya. Amaya's assist and game-winning goal helped LA Galaxy II break a five-game winless streak.

Rio Grande Valley FC 2 | Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 1: The Colorado Springs Switchbacks fell 2-1 to Rio Grande Valley FC Toros behind two Ruben Luna penalty kicks. Switchbacks FC were first on the board, but Rio Grande Valley converted penalty kicks in the 42nd and 64th minute to take the lead. Switchbacks FC’s Josh Phillips and Miguel Gonzalez both earned second yellow cards after the second penalty kick, making the mission for an equalizer too tall a task.
