Match Preview: LA Galaxy II vs. Sacramento

LA Galaxy II (10-15-7, 37 points) return to Southern California for their final home game of the season against Sacramento Republic FC (17-7-8, 59 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, Oct. 6 at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium. LA Galaxy II will look to extend their unbeaten streak to three against a solid Sacramento team. In their last match at home, Los Dos controlled the game against Real Monarchs SLC (18-12-3, 57 points), resulting in a 6-1 victory. On Wednesday, Galaxy II fought for a comeback result on the road against Seattle Sounders FC 2 (5-20-6, 21 points). In that match, Frank Lopez scored the equalizing goal to record his 12th of the season.


With one more game after Saturday, the Galaxy will hope to finish the season on a high note. Los Dos have scored 58 goals this season, of which 38 have been recorded at home. After facing Sacramento Republic FC, LA Galaxy II will hit the road to Kansas City, Mo., to face Swope Park Rangers (14-11-8, 50 points) for their final game of the year.


Sacramento Republic head to StubHub Center after two successful games at home. Most recently, Sacramento played host to Swope Park Rangers which resulted in a 3-1 victory. The Republic sit top of the table in the USL Western Conference with their ticket to the postseason punched.


In August, LA Galaxy II traveled north to take on Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphey’s Park and put on a dominating performance. In that match, Los Dos scored four goal to secure a 4-1 victory. Miguel Aguilar’s goal in the 7th minute put the Galaxy on the board first, and was followed by goals from Ethan Zubak, Jean Engola and Frank Lopez.


On Saturday, LA Galaxy II will host their second annual Fan Appreciation Night. The night’s festivities will celebrate all the fans who have cheeredLos Dos on throughout the season. To kick off the fun, fans are encouraged to arrive early to watch the LA Galaxy’s away match against Sporting KC on the big screen at StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium.


Upon entrance, fans will also receive a commemorative 2018 Team Photo Card. In addition to the always popular concession offers of $2 beers and $2 tacos, fans will be able to enjoy specialty craft beer. Seattle Sounders FC 2 2 | LA Galaxy II 2: Los Dos fell behind late in the first half, taking on a 2-0 deficit during a span of three minutes. However, the Galaxy pulled themselves within one before halftime. Frank Lopez found the late equalizer for Los Dos.


Sacramento Republic FC 3 | Swope Park Rangers 1: Although Sacramento found a goal early in the first half, Swope Park were able to equalize before halftime. However, Sacramento remained focused and scored two more times to secure all three points at home.
