Starting XI presented by Modelo: Houston Dynamo vs. LA Galaxy | Oct. 6, 2019 -

Lineup Notes:

  • It’s Decision Day, and today we decide. The LA Galaxy enter the final game of the MLS Regular Season with playoff implications looming depending on the outcome of Sunday’s contest.
  • LA Galaxy Head Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto will make three changes to his XI: Joe Corona and Giancarlo Gonzalez return to the XI while David Bingham is also back after injury.
  • After missing his only minutes of the 2019 MLS season, David Bingham returns to net for the Galaxy in what will be his 33rd start of the season. He has lead MLS in saves this year.
  • On the right side of the defense is Rolf Feltscher, who makes his third-straight start after serving a suspension two weeks ago. Feltscher has been GBS’ first-choice right back this season.
  • Continuing in the XI is Uruguayan Diego Polenta, who continues to be Galaxy’s top defender this season. The Galaxy brought him in this offseason and he has been a centerpiece along the backline.
  • Alongside Polenta is Giancarlo Gonzalez, who returns to the starting lineup after GBS has rotated in recent weeks. It will be the 15th start of the year for the 2014 World Cup veteran. Pura Vida!
  • Continuing out wide on the left is Dave Romney, who makes his 10th start of the season and his fifth-straight start. Romney has been the first-choice left back as LA has closed out the year.
  • In the center is Jonathan dos Santos, who has had a career year with LA in the center of the field. He is arguably the top central midfielder in MLS.
  • Alongside JDS in the center is Joe Corona, who returns to the lineup after starting last weekend’s game on the bench due to rotation. Corona provides a solid, reliable presence who will help the Galaxy play the game at their tempo.
  • Pushing up higher in the midfielder is Sebastian Lletget, who has become more of an attacking threat late in the season. Lletget makes his 27th start for LA this year.
  • Out wide on the left is Cristian Pavon, who has lit it up in MLS since joining last month. Pavon has two goals and eight assists in just 10 games for LA this year.
  • Out wide on the right is Uriel Antuna, who has six goals and four assists since joining LA this year on loan from Manchester City.
  • Up top is Zlatan. He is a baller.

Game Notes:

  • The LA Galaxy are 11-11-7 all-time vs. Houston.
  • On the road, LA are 5-7-3 vs. the Dynamo.
  • This year on the road, LA gave gone 5-9-2 with 20 goals scored and 30 conceded.
  • The Galaxy are 13-1-1 this season when scoring the game’s opening goal, and 3-13-1 when conceding first.
