Sergeant Major Minter has served the United States Marine Corps with distinction for twenty-three years. Recruited from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 2002, he began as an Airframes Mechanic on CH-53E helicopters and earned twelve additional Military Occupational Specialties. These include aircrew, academy instructor, quality assurance representative, martial arts instructor, force fitness instructor, Marine Security Guard in Europe and China, and senior enlisted leader.
He has deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, Japan, the Mediterranean Sea, Kuwait, Jordan, Haiti, China, and Europe. His service spans combat operations, humanitarian missions, and peacetime leadership roles. Currently, he serves as the Inspector Instructor Command Sergeant Major for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines in Pasadena, California.
Some of his awards include the Combat Aircrew Wings, Air Medal with strike number “3,” Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star, Humanitarian Service Medal with two bronze stars, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
